Dr Jeffrey Bahr, NanoComposites Inc, Houston, Texas, USA Dr. Bahr is responsible for day-to-day operation of NanoComposites and overall strategy development and implementation. Bahr was previously with Carbon Nanotechnologies, Inc. (CNI, now part of Continental Carbon Company), most recently as Group Leader for Energy Technologies, where he led a major development effort targeting nanomaterial electrocatalysts for fuel cell applications in partnership with Motorola and Johnson Matthey. He was also active in new business development, both industrial and academic, through joint development agreements, large government funded R&D efforts, and sponsored research initiatives at universities. Additionally, one of his key technical roles was to develop and pilot chemical processes to enhance nanomaterial performance in polymer composites. Prior to CNI, Dr. Bahr was a NASA supported Postdoctoral Fellow in carbon nanotechnology at Rice University, under the direction of Professor James M. Tour and Nobel Laureate Richard Smalley. During that period he developed methods for the chemical modification of carbon nanotubes, the incorporation of the resulting materials into nanocomposites, and assembly of the nanotubes on various surfaces. Bahr, a recognized expert in carbon nanomaterial technology, is an inventor on nine patents and other patent applications, has coauthored numerous technical publications, and has been an invited speaker at technical conferences and corporations throughout the US and Europe. Bahr received received his B.S. in Chemistry from Texas A&M University and Ph.D. in Chemistry Arizona State University.
