Prof Larry HenchEmeritus Professor of Ceramic Materials, Imperial College, London, UK Larry L. Hench is currently Graduate Research Professor, Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Florida, Professor and Director of Special Projects at the University of Central Florida, Visiting Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Arizona, and Emeritus Professor of Ceramic Materials in the Department of Materials at Imperial College London. For 10 years he served as Co-Director of the Imperial College Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Centre. He assumed the Chair of Ceramic Materials at Imperial College in 1995 following 32 years at the University of Florida where he served as Director of the Bioglass Research Centre and Co-Director of the Advanced Materials Research Center. He re-joined the faculty of the MSE Dept. at the University of Florida in 2009. Larry completed his Bachelor of Ceramic Engineering degree at The Ohio State University in 1961 and his PhD in 1964.
