, University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida, USA

Svetlana V. Vasilyeva obtained her M.S. in Chemistry (1996) followed by her Ph.D. (2000) in Inorganic Chemistry at the Saint-Petersburg Pedagogical University (Russia). She started working as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry in the Inorganic Chemistry Department at the Saint-Petersburg Pedagogical University soon after her thesis defense (2000-2007). Svetlana became interested in the field of conducting polymers and their applications in energy generation/storage (supercapacitors, fuel cells) and optoelectronic devices (electrochromic filters) through a position with the Innovation Research Center Algoritm (Gen3Partners Inc., USA) (2000-2004). She continued developing her research efforts at the University of Northern Iowa (2003) and University of Burgundy (France, 2005) where she worked on synthesis and characterization of the new organometalic polymers and catalytic polymer/metal nanocomposites. In 2008 Svetlana joined Dr. Reynolds research group in the Butler Polymer Research Laboratories (Center for Macromolecular Science and Engineering, University of Florida), focusing on the electrochemistry of conjugated polymers. She was a leading researcher working on the electrochromic ‘smart window’ device project funded by Nanoholdings, LLC. In 2010 she joined Dr. Rinzler research group in Physics Department at UF. Presently she holds the CSO position at the startup company nRadiance, LLC and her research efforts are focused on the single-walled carbon nanotube inks, metal-air batteries, and electrochromic devices.
